What's new?
The material mix has been adapted for even better durability - i.e. Dominico D30 is used for the entire upper sail and parts of the lower sail. This cloth is known for its excellent durability, which is particularly advantageous for a paraglider that has relatively high ground contact during training or intensive ground handling. The ribs are made of Porcher Skytex 38HF for the best airfoil rigidity ensuring wing safety and performance.
How is the RIMO 2 designed?
The 42-cell concept of the RIMO 2 has some clever features. There are four on the sail itself: NGA (New Generation Airfoil) makes the glider stable with the best possible performance. AIP (Air Intake Pockets) ensure a clean air intake, which supports gliding and accelerated flying. FSS (Front Section Support) reduces the effect of turbulence. BTS (Brake Reefing System) ensures an aerodynamically optimized trailing edge, which also benefits the thermal characteristics. Something has also been done with the lines: OLS (Optimized Line Scheme) for lower line resistance and less risk of snagging. The risers contribute to the overall concept of the RIMO 2 with practical markings (e.g. for “putting on ears”).
Who is the RIMO 2 suitable for?
The RIMO 2 is the perfect wing for practicing until the beginner becomes a master. Accordingly, this wing is suitable for student pilots, returning pilots, occasional pilots and particularly safety-conscious pilots who feel at home in the A class. Thanks to its maneuverability, this wing invites you to fly thermals - and rewards you for your commitment when cranking with plenty of airtime without lacking roll and pitch damping.
How does it fly?
The color-coded line levels are noticeable as soon as the glider is laid out - this is very practical when preparing for take-off, but also later in the air. In this context, the risers also provide orientation: the lines for putting on the ears and B-stall are each marked with a corresponding label. When the glider is pulled up, the canopy rises evenly and reliably, without getting caught or overshooting. Once in the air, the deliberately long brake travel of the RIMO 2 is noticeable. The progressively increasing control pressure can be used intuitively and makes it difficult to accidentally “tear off” the canopy. Nevertheless, the RIMO 2 turns willingly and invites you to crank up the thermals. Flying at speed is also fun. Landing is also easy, including an elegant flare.
What sizes and colors are available?
The RIMO 2 is available in five sizes, covering a weight range of 58-140 kg. With three standard color variations, there is something for every taste - and if not, we are also happy to offer special colors via our color configurator.
