Last week the German comps scene converged on Tolmin/Slovenia to decide who was to carry the title of German Champion home, in the German Open 2015.

Anstatt einer geführten Flugreise mit Lehrern und Schülern, ist das neue Projekt von Boxi eine Reise mit Freunden und verbindet Piloten verschiedener Könnensstufen zu einer lockeren Gruppe.

In der aktuellen Ausgabe des THERMIK Magazins wurde der Testbericht unseres Trango XC3 veröffentlicht. Wir finden diesen sehr aufschlussreich, sehr ehrlich und vor allem aber sehr gelungen.

Es ist sehr schwierig die X-Alps Piloten während oder direkt nach dem Rennen abzufangen oder zu kontaktieren. Es ist offensichtlich, dass sie mit dem Bewerb beschäftigt sind und nicht viel Zeit für soziale Kontakte haben. Dennoch konnten wir Ferdy und Honza nach deren Ankunft in Monaco erreichen. Wir fragten sie wie es ihnen während des Rennens ging und natürlich auch was sie von ihrem neuen Trango XC3, dem Schirm, der sie mehr als 1500km durch die Alpen von Salzburg nach Monaco brachte, halten.

As far as we know, the endeavour being undertaken by Boxi and Flugschule Chiemsee is a new concept; rather than a guided flying trip to somewhere, with teachers and pupils, this one is basically a group of friends and associates of rather different skills going on a big trip together.

The Germans, Austrians and Swiss all have their Thermik Magazin - Great Britain has its Skywings. Edited by Joe Schofield, it offers the English-speaking some of the same, but with a distinct British flavour. Oh and they do reviews as well, most recently the UP Trango XC3.

Actually catching up with the X-Alps pilots during, or immediately after the race, is pretty hard - they are obviously busy racing, and haven't got much time for social considerations. However we did manage to catch Ferdy about 24 hours after his reaching goal in Monaco, to ask him how his race had been and not least what he thought of his new Trango XC3, the wing that took him more than 1500km through the Alps, from Salzburg to Monaco.

Our two Red Bull X-Alps gladiators have had an amazing event this time around - they have been at the back, struggling, and they have been racing like airborne sensations to make up for lost ground.
