Both are certified EN/LTF C*. The line drag of the TRANGO X is not very different as the hybrid 2.5-liner construction is close to the 2-liner system of TORRE. TRANGO X has the option of rear riser steering thanks to the HPR riser system. The rear riser steering works well to avoid collapses. TORRE has on top the advantage of 2-liners, which is the efficiency of the rear riser steering on transitions through turbulence. To be precise, the effect of gaining altitude when going through these turbulences. When you compare the glide ratio in calm air, the performance of the 2.5-liner and 2-liner looks quite similar. But when you fly in strong XC-conditions, then you see how the 2-liner jumps a few meters up in almost every single bump you go through. This is why TORRE shows slightly better performance. Another important advantage of TORRE is the even higher maximum speed. So, the answer in short is: If you are a pilot who is not always active with rear riser steering but love to go XC then TRANGO X is a great choice for you. If you're used to controlling the wing with the rear risers (or if you´re willing to learn it) in order to squeeze a few extra miles out of the day, then try the TORRE.
