Martin Rejmanek had his first flight off Slide Mountain by Lake Tahoe, a large alpine lake (20km x 30km) in the Sierra Nevada mountains on the border of California and Nevada. Winds were light, the lift was strong. He launched with his new MAKALU 5 at 2,500msl and thermaled to 4,600msl. His Dad aka UP Team Pilot Honza Rejmanek said: "I told him to stop his climb at 4,500m, which was still far below cloud base." Sounds like a one of a kind day – with a few extra circles from Martin.
In total they had a 3.5 hour flight with short XCs in multiple directions ending with a nice landing in a high mountain meadow. Conclusion by Honza: "It was great turning circles together in a place I first flew in 1995. We are tremendously enjoying our UP wings." It certainly looks like it. We can't wait to see what amazing scenery the two of them explore next after Chamonix and Lake Tahoe.
