This year, we celebrated countless successes, both big and small, with the pilots of the UP community. We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate them once again and look forward to the next season together! Here are a few examples in summary.
International successes from 2025 for our Hall of Fame:
- Victor “Pope” Salinas (UP Team Pilot / Chile) won the “Sport Light” category at the Brazilian Championships with the SUMMIT X (EN/LTF B). He also took 8th place in the overall standings.
- Nanda Walliser (UP Team Pilot / Switzerland) took third place in the women's classification at the Swiss Cup Grindelwald with her MERU 2 (EN/LTF D).
- Stefan Bocks (UP Team Pilot / Germany) flew no less than 221km XC with the MAKALU 5 (EN/LTF B), proving that even with “Low-B” there is a lot to be gained.
- Honza Rejmanek (UP Team Pilot / USA) and his son Martin flew an almost complete circuit around the Mont Blanc massif in France/Italy. Young talent Martin was flying the MAKALU 5 (EN/LTF B) and scored extra points in terms of sightseeing.
- Edno Rosetto (UP Team Pilot / Brazil) came second in the Brumadinho Paragliding Open FAI 2 with his MERU (EN/LTF D).
- Montse Dumpierrez swept the board at the Spanish Championship 2025 & the Women's OPEN 2025 category with her MERU (EN/LTF D).
- Julian Lange (UP Team Pilot / Germany) covered an incredible 314.7 km over ground, or 367.57 XC points, with the MERU 2 (EN/LTF D) from Kössen, Austria. Followed by a mega flat triangle from Grente with 234 km XC distance.
- Aninder Singh (UP Distributor / Norway), the man with an average speed of 36 km/h, flew 198 km with his TRANGO X (EN/LTF C) in Kenya early in the year.
- Peter Hilger (UP Team Pilot / Germany) flew a whopping 170 km XC route on the TRANGO X (EN/LTF C) with an amazing average speed.
- Alfred Brenzing (UP Team Pilot / Germany) completed a beautiful FAI triangle from Hochfelln with his MERU (EN/LTF D), which earned him 362.07 XC points.
- Markus Henninger (UP Team Pilot / Germany) achieved an incredible 170 km free distance in the flatlands from Cottbus with his MERU 2 (EN/LTF D).
