While much is being reported worldwide about the new Pope, we also have some good news: UP Team Pilot Victor “Pope” Salinas won the “Sport Light” category at the Brazilian National Championships with the SUMMIT X (EN/LTF B)! He also finished 8th overall.
A great achievement – congratulations!
In his own words, the report reads as follows: "I had the opportunity to participate in two championships that took place simultaneously in the city of Alfredo Chaves, ES, Brazil: the SUPER OPEN 2025 (2nd stage of the Capixaba and Brazilian Paragliding Championship) and the FAI2 Sport Class. Of the three competition days, only two valid tasks could be flown, but that was enough to get the most out of my new paraglider, the SUMMIT X. I had only done a short test flight before. Since I had only done this short test flight in Chile before the trip, I only really got to know its characteristics in Brazil. I was pleasantly surprised by its performance in all phases: takeoff, flight, and landing. The results achieved clearly reflect the excellent performance of the paraglider."
