The two-day Testival in Switzerland was another highlight. Thanks to everyone who came!
Around 100 guests in total attended the event on the weekend of April 25–26, 2026. We were on site from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day, and fortunately the weather cooperated. With 30 registered test flights, several UP gliders took to the air, including the LHOTSE X, KIBO X, KANGRI X, TRANGO X, and TORRE. There was, of course, plenty of discussion about the product range - glide performance and handling received particular praise across the board.
Good to know for pilots reading this who’d like to stop by for the first time next year: The Jura has relatively small mountains, with an elevation of about 400 meters. However, there are very good thermals and, especially in the evenings, great soaring conditions. Normally, the airspace is closed by Basel Airport starting at 1,750 m. This weekend, however, it was open and the ceiling was raised to 2,700 m. For context: the landing site is located at approximately 500 m above sea level.
