What's new?

The K2-4 ist equipped with several new technical features. First, the risers mow have an attachment for big ears, and they are made of a combination of 25 and 20mm webbings for maximum strenght and weight spare. Next, the new Snaplock brake handles make for easy and quick handling during countless take-offs and landings on the K2-4. Although we still rely on a four-line system to sort the lines as easy as possible, the lines are brand new, robust, and durable lines from Edelrid. We selected this high-quality material wo withstand the rigors of long-term use as well as possible. The negative 3D shaping, which comes from UP's 2-line development, ensures a clean leading edge even in high-speed flight, causing a considerable increase in performance. Finally, the upper material, the leading edge to the 50% of the chord, is constructed using double-coated Everlast from Porcher.With this innovation, UP improved significantely K2 durability while reducing the overall weight of the K2-4 by 700 grams to 7.7 kilograms.

How does it fly?

Launching the K2-4 is simple. It is significantely improved compared to its predecessor (especially in zero wind conditions). It rises evenly without overshooting. During flight, the glider is very maneuvrable. The typical precise handling of a UP glider invites you to core thermals and fly cross-country. The optimized trimmers ensure an effective increase in speed and allow the pilot to react to varying conditions and passenger weights. The brake pressure remains moderate in all weather conditions and throughout the weight range. The K2-4 remains comfortable to fly wether you are fighting a headwind with a light passenger or landing in zero wind with a heavy passenger.

Who is the K2-4 for?

The K2-4 was developed for professional tandem pilots. But as with the predecessor, our tandem glider is characterized by precise handling and outstanding performance, making it a reliable companion for XC flying for two. The size SM is also approved for solo flying.

What sizes and colors are available?

There are three standard colors - the white bottom sail allows for custom branding if desired. The two sizes (S/M and M/L) together cover a weight range of 110–230 kg.
