"The UP MAKALU 5 is positioned by UP as a low-B. However, in terms of its aspect ratio and flight characteristics, it could easily pass as a mid-B. It also has nothing to hide in terms of performance compared to its competitors in this segment. Its occasional liveliness may be a bit challenging for beginners in the B class at first. With more experience, however, the comparatively agile handling and the fun of cranking will be all the more enjoyable. All in all, UP has succeeded in creating a very good all-rounder for a really wide range of pilots, whether in the mountains or on flat terrain. If you're not already aiming for high-B and don't necessarily want to fly XC distances of 200+km, the MAKALU 5 will be a very appealing, solid, and efficient companion that leaves little to be desired."
